Licking County’s average home sold price was $176,352 from January through September of this year, up 4.5% over the first nine months of 2015. There were 1,890 existing homes and condominiums sold in this year’s first nine months, up 7.2% from the same period last year when there were 1,763 homes sold, according to the Columbus REALTORS Multiple Listing Service.
“The market in 2016 continues to stay strong with a healthy increase in our average sale price in September, matched with a low average days on market making it an ideal time to list,” said 2016 Licking County Board of REALTORS President Lisa Stewart. “Our number of homes sold is consistent with the number from one year ago, while new listings rose just slightly. Demand remains strong with buyers who are ready to purchase.”
The inventory of homes and condos for sale in Licking County was 600 at the end of September, with a 2.9 month’s supply of inventory. There were 265 new listings that came onto the market in September, a 2.3% increase over September 2015.
The average sale price of a Licking County home during the month of September was $187,900, which is a 12.4% gain over September 2015. There were 229 homes sold in Licking County in September, a 0% change over September 2015. Homes sold in September, spent an average of 38 days on market (from listing to close), down 42.4% from 66 days in September 2015. Homes going into contract totaled 224 in September.
