Licking County’s average home sold price was $171,909 from January through June of this year, up 3.1% over the first six months of 2015. There were 1,186 existing homes and condominiums sold in this year’s first six months, up 11.7% from the same period last year when there were 1,062 homes sold, according to the Columbus REALTORS Multiple Listing Service.
“Our Licking County housing market continues to be strong with Buyers ready and willing to purchase houses,” said 2016 Licking County Board of REALTORS President Lisa Stewart. “This is a smart time for Sellers to put their house on the market and a great time for Buyers to take advantage of incredibly low interest rates.”
The inventory of homes and condos for sale in Licking County was 564 at the end of June, with a 2.7 month’s supply of inventory. There were 314 new listings that came onto the market in June.
The average sale price of a Licking County home during the month of June was $183,973, which is a 3.9 percent gain over June 2015. There were 256 homes sold in Licking County in June, a 5.3 percent increase over June 2015. Homes sold in June, spent an average of 39 days on market (from listing to close), down 41.8% from 67 days in June 2015. Homes going into contract totaled 292 in June.
