Licking County’s average home sold price was $176,083 from January through November of this year, up 4.3% over the first eleven months of 2015. There were 2,286 existing homes and condominiums sold in this year’s first eleven months, up 9.1% from the same period last year when there were 2,096 homes sold, according to the Columbus REALTORS Multiple Listing Service.
“The market in Licking County remains strong, while experiencing a natural slowing for this time of year. This is a great time to list a home, as there is less competition and buyers looking at this time of year tend to be more serious buyers.” said 2016 Licking County Board of REALTORS President Lisa Stewart. “This is proving to be one of the best years ever for the central Ohio real estate market with record sales. Low interest rates continue to provide opportunity for buyers to buy more for their money.”
The inventory of homes and condos for sale in Licking County was 513 at the end of November, with a 2.5 month’s supply of inventory. There were 164 new listings that came onto the market in November, a 11.4% decline from November 2015.
The average sale price of a Licking County home during the month of November was $176,974, which is a 10.7% rise from November 2015. There were 175 homes sold in Licking County in November, a 15.1% gain over November 2015. Homes sold in November, spent an average of 52 days on market (from listing to close), down 17.5% from 63 days in November 2015. Homes going into contract totaled 182 in November.
